The internet is the lifeblood of any business. In 10 years it has gone from a nice-to-have service to an absolute prerequisite of any office. But as the internet has grown, more and more services are being run over it, in most cases to the point of saturation. For most companies, a single ADSL line is now not sufficient. But other ISP offerings such as SDSL and leased lines can often be too expensive. We are able to offer client better responsiveness from their internet connection through either bonding or data management.
Bonding
Bonding is the process of connecting one or more internet links together to form a single connection. So you can group 3-4 ADSL connections and achieve 3-4 times the normal speeds.
Data management
Sometimes speeding up the connection does not help. A good example of this is if there is a software package, such as BitTorrent absorbing all the available bandwidth. Adding more bandwidth would simply enable BitTorrent to use more. Another example is VOIP or Internet Telephony. This doesn’t require a fast internet connection, but instead sends its data in a constant steady stream. If this stream gets interrupted even for a few milliseconds, the result is a poor quality phone call. SR Networks can help in this situation by supplying additional hardware that can police the internet connection and give every user, device or piece of software its fair share.
